Measure your blood pressure
Learn the correct way to have your blood pressure taken, whether you are getting it checked at the doctor’s office or checking it yourself at home.

Before measurement:
- make sure you DO NOT smoke, drink caffeinated beverages or exercise within 30 minutes before measuring your blood pressure.
- Empty your bladder.
- Ensure at least 5 minutes of quiet rest before measurements.
- Read KANOX Blood pressure monitor’s user manual carefully.
Prepare everything:
- Sit in a comfortable chair with your back straight and supported (on a dining chair, rather than a sofa).
- Your feet should be flat on the floor and your legs should not be crossed.
- Your arm should be supported on a flat surface (such as a table) with the upper arm at heart level.
- Make sure the bottom of the cuff is placed directly 1-2 cm above the bend of the elbow.
- Make sure the blood pressure cuff is snug but not too tight. The cuff should be against your bare skin, not over clothing.
While measuring your blood pressure:
- Do not talk.
- Sit quietly and watch the monitor. Pressure readings will be displayed on the screen.
- Wait for a long beep. This means that the measurement is complete.
- Note the pressures on the display screen.
- Allow the cuff to deflate.
Useful notes about measuring blood pressure:
- In general, Measure at the same time every day. It is important to take the readings at the same time each day, such as morning and evening.
Note: Always follow your doctor’s instructions on when and how often you should measure your blood pressure.
Take multiple readings and record the results
